We have been providing small business loans to the region for the last 20 years. Our clients are in various industries, from agriculture to oil and gas to retail to construction and are scattered throughout the region. Since 1995, Lloydminster Region Community Futures has invested $5,484,208 in regional small businesses.

Here are a few more fast facts:

• The Community Futures Loans program can help to finance viable businesses with start up or expansion financing up to $150,000. Internally our office has a limit of $75,000.
  
• In addition to our regular loans program we also have funds targeted towards young entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs with disabilities.
  
• Interest rates start at Border Credit Union Prime plus 3% and are amortized over a maximum of five years. Flexible repayment schedules can be created with no penalty for early repayment.
  

Eligibility:

• Applicant must be planning to locate their business within the Lloydminster Region Community Future's regional boundaries
• Applicant seeking financing must show evidence of refusal from one financial institution
• Have a viable business idea
• Have a minimum of 10% in owner’s equity
• All loan applications require board approval
• Must submit a business plan and cash flow statement
• Submit a loan application fee with your application.
  

Interest rates are (Border Credit Union Prime) + 3.0%. Loan terms of five years or less are established for repayment.

Process:

All loan applications must be submitted by the first Friday of the month in order to be prepared for the Investment Review Committee meeting.

Investment meetings are held approximately once per month. Dates and times will be discussed during your meeting with the business analyst.
